"As We Fall Asleep" is an ongoing collection of objects & subjects that exist in the liminal world between life/death, waking/sleeping, existence/extinction. I choose objects with powerful symbolism and pregnant with implication, that could equally be from history, from memory, or from a fleeting dream. These sculptures are often devoid of color or stark in contrasts. I mean to evoke the overlap between the present and the past, bringing forth a sense of unease or imbued narrative that is just below the surface of the piece: a haunting story embedded in the idea and form.
